Change of plans. There are a variety of ways to bring someone back to WWE television and it can be interesting to see how someone returns. Occasionally you will see quite the surprise and it can ignite a rivalry in a hurry. That is what we saw this week for a prominent WWE Superstar, but it turns out that there were different plans to bring him back to television after a hiatus.

The closing segment of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Drew McIntyre return and attack Sami Zayn. This was McIntyre’s first appearance since October after his Hell In A Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood. According to PWInsider.com, McIntyre returned to television earlier than expected. While McIntyre was expected to return soon, the backstage belief is that he was brought back sooner due to Bronson Reed’s injury. McIntyre is advertised for live events later this month, so he would not have been gone much longer either way.
This should be good. Check out McIntyre’s return and what else he has done:
Opinion: This makes sense, as WWE is going to be down a big villain with Reed being on the shelf and McIntyre is about as good of a replacement as there is available. I’m curious to see where this goes as McIntyre vs. Zayn could be interesting and it’s off to a good start. That’s enough to make me wonder where this goes and hopefully they can follow up on a promising idea.
