Someone has to go after him. We are less than a month removed from the NXT uprising against the main rosters. Over Survivor Series weekend, NXT showed that they were more than ready to hang with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. There were a lot of big names fighting for the black and yellow and the Undisputed Era was on top of that list. Things have changed a bit since then though and things are moving on towards the end of the year.

As the leader of the Undisputed Era, NXT Champion Adam Cole is someone who can command a lot of attention in NXT. He is one of the most popular stars in the promotion and someone who could manage to be a top star in WWE one day. That being said, at some point he has to defend the NXT Title and that day is coming next week. But who is getting the title shot?

This week on NXT, Finn Balor defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee in a triple threat match to become the new #1 contender to Cole’s NXT Title match. The title shot will come on the December 18 edition of NXT, which will serve as the last show of the year as there will be no show on December 25 or January 1. This will be the first time that Balor and Cole have had a singles match in WWE.

It was a big win. Check out what Cole had to say after finding out his new #1 contender:

Opinion: This is a bit of a surprise as Ciampa and Lee seemed to be the next big challengers to Cole. That being said, it is nice to see a little change of pace like this as Balor is someone who can not only have a good match but also might just pull off the surprise title win. That being said, I’d be surprised if Cole lost the title, as he might hold it for a long time.

Do you think the title will change hands? Was Balor the right choice? Let us know in the comments below.
