Call it a crossover. Professional wrestling has spent a very long time trying to establish itself as a mainstream sport. While there are certain thing that will always hold it back, quite a few strides have been made. It can still be a big deal to see wrestlers interacting with more well received sports, which is what we saw again this week as part of a cross promotional effort.

WWE Superstars Drew McIntyre and Liv Morgan appeared with Pat McAfee at this weekend’s Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The two appeared as part of a promotional event for the Royal Rumble, which will be taking place at the venue in February 2022. Tickets will go on Sale November 15. This comes a week after Seth Rollins made an appearance at an NFL game last week.

Opinion: There is something special about seeing WWE Superstars getting involved with the biggest sports league in the United States. It makes WWE feel that much bigger and that is something that takes some effort. If nothing else, it shows you just how far things have come for WWE, as the idea of seeing the two side by side would not have exactly seemed likely in days past.
