They have an idea. AEW has gone from non-existent to having three nationally broadcast television series a week in less than five years. That is the kind of thing that you never see take place but AEW has made it happen as Collision made its debut last month. The show airs on Saturday nights and that is going to cause some problems, though now we have something of a goal set.

According to Fightful Select, Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) is more interested in the show’s overall placement in the ratings than the show’s exact audience. The show is expected to rank highly most weeks, with a top five rating being seen as a success. Of the three shows with data available, the shows have ranked as follows:
June 17 – #3
June 24 – #5
July 1 – #15
WBD is also said to understand that college football will cause problems for the show this fall. Collision’s performance will likely be a major factor in AEW’s new broadcast rights deal.
The show has done some good things so far. Check out what has happened on Collision:
Opinion: There is a logic in what WBD is saying, as there is almost no way to have the audience be incredibly strong at 8pm on a Saturday night. If they are the #3 or #4 or whatever show for the night, things are going well enough and WBD will have something to brag about. For now, things are doing well enough, and as long as it doesn’t drop dramatically, it should be ok.
