It’s a tricky situation. The wrestling world is not the same as it was just a few months ago. At the moment, it is very difficult to have a wrestling show in general as several wrestlers are not able or willing to come tot he shows for the sake of health concerns or travel restrictions. This can cause a problem if wrestling companies are trying to run regular events, and it is even more complicated when titles are involved.
Impact Wrestling is one of the few companies that is still running regular events during the Coronavirus outbreak. They are doing things a bit differently though with several shows being taped in advance rather than going live every week. This can cause a problem when some of the bigger names are not able to be at the show. When that is a top star, it can be even worse.
This week on Impact Wrestling, Moose became the new TNA World Champion by defeating Hernandez and Michael Elgin in a triple threat match. The TNA World Title was brought out of retirement after Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard stayed in Mexico rather than come to the show. Eddie Edwards was also missing due to health concerns, leaving Elgin as the only member of the original triple threat match present. Blanchard is still the Impact Wrestling World Champion and there is no word on how the two champion situation will be resolved.
It was quite an ordeal. Check out the setup and the match itself:

Opinion: I’m not sure what else could be done as the company only had so many options. If Blanchard isn’t going to be at the show, there weren’t many other choices they could have made. This makes as much sense as anything else and it helps when they tied it in with the recent TNA storylines. If nothing else, maybe they could have a unification match at the rescheduled No Place Like Home.
