Well that’s….surprising. Every now and then you’ll see something in wrestling that doesn’t make a ton of sense on paper. Sometimes you’ll see a match that doesn’t make a ton of sense but is interesting anyway. This might be a surprising gimmick or, more often, a pairing that you didn’t exactly expect to see getting together. That was the case this week after the cameras stopped rolling, and it might mean an interesting change of pace.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, this week’s Monday Night Raw post-show dark match saw Elias face Jinder Mahal until Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns interfered and took both of them out. Elias didn’t make an appearance on this week’s show while Mahal only made a brief appearance in a backstage segment, having a photo shoot which was broken up by the Riott Squad. At the moment, Elias and Mahal are not feuding on television.

Maybe Elias could go this way?

Elias has a song for Brock Lesnar: Raw June 18, 2018

Opinion: Elias is starting to become an issue for WWE as he’s so great at being a heel that the fans are in danger of turning him face in the process. The problem with that is he can’t really function as a face because his whole character is built on insulting people and bringing the fans close to where they want to go and then snatching it away from them. That doesn’t work as a face, but I’m not sure how much longer he can go as a heel without moving up the card.

Do you think Elias can be a face? Is Mahal’s time on top over? Let us know in the comments below.
