Give the boy a prize. There are all kinds of titles and accomplishments in WWE and some of them are more prominent than others. Titles are going to be won and lost almost regularly because no reign can last forever. That can make some winners a bit easier to forget, but there are going to be some accomplishments that stand the team of time. Such was the case this week.

One of the biggest recent WrestleMania traditions is the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. It’s a pretty easy idea: take most of the people who aren’t on the main WrestleMania card and put them into a big battle royal for the sake of getting them on the show. It might not be the most brilliant or revolutionary idea in the world but it is something that serves its purpose well. The match did not take place on WrestleMania this year, but it did take place.

Jey Uso won the 2021 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during this week’s SmackDown, becoming seventh man to win the match. Uso last eliminated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the match. This was the first time that the match took place on SmackDown instead of WrestleMania, as the match was moved for the sake of keeping WrestleMania shorter.

Welcome to the club. Check out some of the other battle royal winners:

Opinion: While I would have preferred that the match take place on WrestleMania as it usually does, this is certainly better than nothing. Above all else, the match took place somewhere and gave Uso the win that he needed. His main event run has been nothing short of shocking and while he never won any titles, at least he has this on his resume and it isn’t going away.
