There’s your big surprise. WrestleMania 39 has come and gone and it was one of the biggest events that WWE has ever presented. The show had all kinds of things going on over two nights but everything led up to the main event, with Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Cody Rhodes. Now that the show is over, we know where things went.

Reigns defeated Rhodes to retain the title in a match that went just shy of thirty five minutes. The match saw interference from the Usos and Solo Sikoa, the latter of whom gave Rhodes the Samoan Spike, allowing Reigns to hit the spear for the pin to retain the title. As a result of his win, Reigns has now held the Universal Title for 946 days, putting him less than three months away from surpassing Pedro Morales’ 1,027 reign, the fifth longest in company history.
It was a huge night. Check out the title match and the post show comments:
Opinion: That is certainly a surprise and not the way I was expecting the match to go. Rhodes had been built up as the one to take Reigns down and while he might do it later, he did not do it at WrestleMania. It’s almost hard to fathom that Reigns won, but that is where we are now, as he is going to need a new challenger, which we might be finding out later this week.
What do you think of the result? Who will take the title from Rhodes? Let us know in the comments below.
