Surprise? Interesting Details On Sonya Deville’s Monday Night Raw Return

I remember her. There are different ways to bring a wrestler back to television after a hiatus and some of them can be quite the surprise. You never know when you are going to see someone pop back up after a long time away and it can be a cool moment if done right. That was the case earlier this week and now we know a bit more about how the return was set up.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Sonya Deville made a surprise return to the show, appearing in a backstage segment with Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark. This was Deville’s first appearance for WWE since suffering a torn ACL in August 2023. According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, Deville was seen backstage at the show and her return was not a surprise when it aired on television. At the same time, Deville was not expected to return until mid-summer, so her being around at all was a surprise. It is not clear when Deville will be returning to the ring.

Opinion: That is a different way to go as a return like Deville will often be hidden from the wrestlers backstage. At the same time, Deville was only appearing in a backstage segment that feels like it should be part of a bigger story going forward. It’s nice to have her back though and hopefully she can return to the ring sooner than later, as she was getting better before she got hurt.
