He’s up next. You never know when you might see someone getting into a bigger spot on the card. It is one of the more fascinating sights in wrestling when a wrestler gets a surprise push and it can make for one of the better feelings when someone who has worked hard gets their chance. That seems to be the case with a star in AEW and it might surprise you to see who it is.

In addition to AEW’s main weekly series with Dynamite, the company also presents a secondary show with Dark. The secondary show is quite different than Dynamite, which offers a much more in-ring oriented show with a series of mostly one sided matches against a rotating cast of independent wrestlers. One such wrestler has earned a contract though and it might be more than that.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Will Hobbs, whose full time signing with AEW was announced earlier this week, is in for a push in the company. Hobbs got his start on Dark and eventually earned a spot in the Casino Battle Royal at All Out. While Hobbs did not win, he appeared on this week’s edition of Dynamite and helped Jon Moxley in a fight against Team Taz. Hobbs will team with Moxley and Darby Allin against Team Taz and Lance Archer next week.

Hobbs made quite an impact. Check out his time with Moxley:

Opinion: As I said when he was signed to AEW, good for Hobbs. It says a lot to see how someone is given a chance in AEW, which is not something that you see everywhere. I’m not sure how far he is going to go or if he will live up to the hype, but Hobbs is getting a chance and that is something you can’t say about everyone. Hopefully he makes the most of it, but the fact that he is getting the shot is what matters the most.

What do you think of Hobbs? How will he do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
