All nice and legal. WWE has less than a month to go before Summerslam and that means they need to get things ready in a hurry. They know how to do that rather well and now we are starting to see where the show’s card is going. WWE has a lot to set up on the show and this time around, they are starting near the top, as the main event has been set up in a hurry.

Since winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania 36, Drew McIntyre has become one of the biggest stars in the company in a hurry. That is the kind of thing that can make someone a very worthwhile champion in short order, but at the same time it puts a big target on his back. A lot of people are going to be coming for the title and now we know who will be doing that at Summerslam.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Randy Orton challenged McIntyre for a title shot at Summerslam, saying that he felt he needed to win the title again. Later in the night, McIntyre accepted the challenge and confirmed that the match would be taking place at Summerslam. Orton attacked McIntyre at the end of the show, giving him an RKO after McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler.

That was a quick yes. Check out the challenge and the acceptance:

Opinion: This isn’t exactly surprising as Orton has been the hottest thing on the show for months now. It was clear that we were going to be seeing the match sooner or later and they are giving us the setup as soon as they could have. The idea of the Claymore vs. the RKO is a good way to go and hopefully they can have a match that can live up to the hype that they have set up.
