That’s a shakeup. There are all kinds of titles in wrestling and some of them are quite prestigious for wrestlers to win. At the same time, some titles have something a little bit different to make them stand out. That could be a little bit of anything and some designations are only supposed to last for a little while. Now one special kind of title has been dropped.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One More Run: Popular Stable Makes Surprise Return On AEW Dynamite
At Full Gear, Jamie Hayter defeated Toni Storm to become the AEW Interim Women’s Champion. This week on Dynamite, an announcement was made that AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa has vacated the title, meaning the interim moniker has been dropped and Hayter is now the official Women’s Champion. In addition, since Rosa vacated the title, Storm’s title reign has now been changed from an Interim Title reign to a full on Women’s Title reign.

Opinion: This is one of those situations that seems to have been a bit more complicated than it needed to be in the first place but now AEW has straightened it out a lot more. I’m not sure how much sense it makes for Storm’s reign to be elevated but the Interim Title aspect never felt necessary in the first place. Thankfully everything is where it should be now and hopefully AEW doesn’t bring back the Interim stuff in the future.
