That’ll change things up. We are less than a week away from Summerslam and that means the card is mostly set in stone. That being said, WWE loves little more than to add things to their major shows at the last minute and that includes changing some matches that have already been set up. That was the case on Monday Night Raw with a change to a title match.
One of the longer running stories on Monday Night Raw is the battle between Apollo Crews and the Hurt Business. This included a title defense against MVP, after which Crews took the new United States Title that MVP had paid for. That set up a rematch between the two of them at Summerslam, and now things are being changed to make things a little more interesting.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Crews defeated Shelton Benjamin of the Hurt Business in a singles match. As a result, Benjamin and Bobby Lashley are barred from ringside when Crews defends the United States Title against MVP at Summerslam. Later in the night, the Hurt Business defeated Crews, Mustafa Ali and Ricochet in a six man elimination tag team match.
It was an intense negotiation. Check out how the match was set up:
Opinion: This makes sense and they should be able to have a good match on Sunday. There is only so much you can believe Crews can survive against the entire team but a banged up Crews against MVP should work fine. In theory this should lead to Crews vs. Lashley for the title, but I’m not sure when that would take place. Either way, they have done a decent job of getting us here and that isn’t a bad thing.
What do you think of the stipulation? Who leaves with the title? Let us know in the comments below.
