Still Working: Pair Of Backstage Updates On CM Punk’s WWE Return And Status

Still working. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster but some of them have something of a reputation backstage. These reputations might not be the most positive and might not be fairly earned, but there are certain people who seem to have controversy following them around. That is the case with one of the biggest names in WWE, but things might be looking up.

Last week on SmackDown, CM Punk made a surprise return and became the fifth member of Roman Reigns’ WarGames team. According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, Punk was always the plan to be the fifth member of the team, meaning that Seth Rollins being recruited was a ruse. In addition, it is said that Punk is continuing to be well received backstage with no incidents or issues being reported. Punk returned to WWE last year at Survivor Series after a near ten year hiatus.

Opinion: It’s not overly surprising that Punk was the big surprise entrant for the match as WWE would want to bring him back to the ring in an important match. That’s what we’ll be getting this weekend, and part of that is due to Punk apparently staying on his best behavior behind the scenes. Thankfully everything is going well, as Punk does not have the best track record with stuff outside of the ring.
