Stick With It: Update On Jake Roberts’ AEW Status

He’s still around. Legends can bring a lot to a wrestling promotion, even if they are not getting in the ring. There are certain intangibles that a veteran can offer that regular wrestlers just do not have and that can be on display every time they are on screen. One legend has not been around much lately, but now we know a bit more about his current status.

Jake Roberts has been part of the AEW roster since 2019, primarily serving as Lance Archer’s manager. However, he has not appeared on television in the last several weeks. According to Fightful Select, Roberts is still with AEW and will be doing some off-screen work for them in the future. There is no word on when or if he will be returning to AEW television.

Opinion: It is a good idea to have someone of Roberts’ stature around as he is one of those legends who can help boost up a younger star. That is what AEW has tried to have him do with Archer and it has worked out well enough all things considered. Roberts can still talk incredibly well and makes you believe what he is saying and if that is the bonus he brings to AEW, it helps both sides.
