He’s as big of a deal as you’re getting. Wrestling has undergone a bit of a renaissance in recent years as there have been several wrestling based documentaries, films and series. Several of these have shed a new light on some older stories, with some of them being things that have not been looked at in years. Now one of the biggest names of all time will be involved.
One of the more prominent wrestling documentary series has been Dark Side of the Ring, which offers a look at a variety of different stories from wrestling history. As the name suggests, the themes tend to be some of the sadder stories that wrestling has seen, with several of them being built around the life and career of a wrestler. One of the upcoming shows will feature one of the top stars in wrestling history.
It’s a big get for the show. Check out a special announcement:
Steve Austin will appear on the third season premiere of Dark Side of the Ring during an appearance on Cari & Jemele (Won’t) Stick To Sports. The first episode will focus on the life and career of Brian Pillman, who was Austin’s partner in WCW as the Hollywood Blonds. There is no word on when the third season will premiere or how many episodes the season will feature.
Opinion: That’s quite the get for the show, as there are very few names in wrestling history on the level of Austin. The series has been big on its own but having someone the caliber of Austin there is going to do it a lot of good. Hopefully this leads to other top names appearing on the show, as there are some incredible stories to be told from throughout wrestling history.
