He’s in. There have been all kinds of changes at the top of WWE, with several people moving in or out of leadership positions. That makes for some interesting situations as it leads to fans wondering what might be happening next. One of the new bosses is one of the most important stars in company history and now he has made an announcement about one of the biggest names going today.

The Rock has announced that Drew McIntyre has officially re-signed a new deal with WWE. The announcement included a video of McIntyre being presented with a Scottish Claymore sword, a gift from the Rock. According to Fightful Select, McIntyre and WWE began negotiating in March, with the deal being described as “big money” over multiple years. McIntyre’s previous deal was set to expire in May.

Opinion: I’m not sure how big of a surprise this is, but the important thing is that McIntyre is going to be around for a long time to come. McIntyre has been on a roll lately in WWE as he has figured out a lot of what he had been missing/not allowed to do before. Having him around will make things better for WWE, as they can now make some longer term plans for McIntyre, who will likely be in an important spot.
