It’s been hit or miss. Wrestlers have tried their hands at acting for decades but only some of them have ever been able to make it work. It is a rare thing for a wrestler to be a success on the big screen, or almost any non-wrestling screen for that matter, but several have made an effort. Now another one is talking about how she has considered it, though she had a good reason for turning down a role.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was a guest on the Cheap Heat podcast where she talked about a potential acting career. Ripley said that she had certainly thought about it over the years but it would “have to be like an action or a horror”. She also revealed that she was offered a starring role in a movie, but turned it down as she would not be able to see her dogs if she accepted. Ripley did say that she would be open to acting more when her wrestling career is over.
Ripley has that star power to her. Check out some of her better WWE moments:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised at Ripley being offered some film roles as she has the kind of striking look that is hard to ignore. She comes off as someone who could be a star and it is great to see her becoming an even bigger deal in WWE. It would not surprise me a bit to see her venture into acting in some way, as the potential is absolutely there if she wants to pursue it down the line.
What do you think of Ripley’s current run? Which wrestlers would make the best actors? Let us know in the comments below.
