Spreading the live. WWE is trying a few different things to fix its television ratings and audience problems. One of their ideas has been to bring in some legends for an attempt at driving the numbers up, including with next week’s Raw Reunion, which will include a host of names making a one night return to the show. One such legend is going to be sticking around for the next night.

As announced on his Twitter account, Shawn Michaels will be appearing on next week’s SmackDown Live and providing commentary for the show. Michaels is also scheduled to appear for the Raw Reunion special on Monday night. At the moment, there are no reports on Michaels continuing to appear on the show going forward, meaning that this is likely a one off appearance.

Michaels has been on the show before. Check out his appearance on the first weekly SmackDown:

Opinion: This isn’t the kind of thing that is going to pop the ratings up that much but it is a nice bonus feature. Maybe Michaels will stick around and do some more of this, as he certainly would seem to offer a more unique perspective than someone like Byron Saxton or Corey Graves. Then again, a lot of legends have not like being on commentary long term so it might not happen again beyond Tuesday.

How will Michaels do? Would you like to see him take the job full time? Let us know in the comments below.
