Speak Your Mind: WWE Brings Back Classic Tradition For WrestleMania Weekend

The tradition continues. We are about two weeks away from WrestleMania 40 and that means it is time to start getting ready for some other things that will take place over the weekend aside from the show itself. This includes a variety of things, including WWE World, which will feature a variety of special events. Now we know that WWE is bringing back a classic concept for the event.

WWE has announced that the Slammy Awards will take place at WWE World on Sunday April 7. The Awards celebrate the best in WWE and have been held on and off since the late 1980s. Fans are able to avoid for the awards in eleven different categories and the ceremony will be streamed live on WrestleMania Sunday with Big E. and Cathy Kelley serving as hosts.

Opinion: Cool. This is the kind of thing that can bring the fun side of things to wrestling as fans will always get into the idea of having their voices heard. WWE has run the Slammy Awards for a very long time now and it makes sense to bring them back for a special moment like this. I could go for this being a regular event, as the Slammy Awards have long since been a fun, less than serious night.
