It’s his decision. You never know when you might see a wrestler retire from the ring, as there several different ways for someone to end their career. Occasionally you will see someone announce the end of their career in advance and it can make for a rather special moment when everything wraps up. That will be the case again next year, though that was not the original plan.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Would Know: Seth Rollins Gives His Thoughts On Retirement From WWE

Last month, Sting announced hat his retirement match would take place at AEW Revolution 2024. During a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Sting revealed that the original plan was for him to retire earlier, perhaps this December. However, the debut of Ric Flair the following week made Sting want to continue to Revolution. There is no word on who Sting will face in his final match.

Sting has done some great things in AEW. Check out his time there:

Opinion: There is something strange about seeing Sting talking about hanging up his boots and ending his in-ring career. He has been around for the better part of forty years now but that is going to come to an end in a few months. I’m not sure how things are going to go for him, but this is going to be a huge moment and that is what it should be after his legendary career.
