You knew someone was going to ask about it. As I’m pretty sure you’ve heard, SmackDown Live is less than two months away from moving over to FOX in the biggest change the show has ever seen. However, things aren’t going so well for the show in the ratings and viewership departments as the audience just isn’t caring about what the show is doing. Someone at FOX has to have an opinion on that.
In a new interview with The Big Lead, Fox Sport Senior Vice President of Sales Mark Evans was asked about SmackDown Live’s ratings and viewership issues. Evans sounded positive about the move, saying that FOX knew how to pump life into WWE, which they view as a home run. WWE is going to be presented as part of FOX’s sports package, including the NFL and college football coverage.
This could be a big part of SmackDown Live. Check out the big surprise ending:
Opinion: While SmackDown Live’s ratings and audiences aren’t strong at the moment, there is a real chance that they will blow Monday Night Raw out of the water when Monday Night Football rolls around. Both shows are getting a bit steadier and WWE has a built in audience, but they need something to keep people watching. I know WWE will be working on some ideas, though I’m not sure if they’ll be enough.
How will SmackDown Live do on FOX? Will its audience beat Monday Night Raw? Let us know in the comments below.
