That would be a reason. One of the biggest wrestling stories over the last week has been the string of wrestlers released from the company. This included several wrestlers who had not been featured in recent months, but there was one who stood out. He had been a regular and a fairly prominent star, and now we might know more about why he was let go from WWE.

Matt Riddle was one of the names released from WWE, though his release came separately from the main group of releases. This came shortly after Riddle accused a Port Authority officer of sexually assaulting him, during which Riddle was reportedly heavily intoxicated. According to SportsKeeda’s Bill Apter on the UnSkripted podcast (25:13-25:45), UFC President Dana White reportedly had issues with Riddle during his time in the UFC. Apter went on to say that following the WWE/UFC merger, it might not have been worth the trouble to have Riddle around. Riddle announced his departure from WWE last week.

Opinion: That would make a lot of sense, as White certainly does have some history with Riddle and Riddle has already had a string of issues in WWE. There does come a point when the problems someone brings are too much to overcome the good things. I’m not sure sure when Riddle will wrestle again, but it does not seem like it is going to be in WWE, at least not anytime soon.
