Crown them. Titles are some of the most important things in any wrestling promotion as they instantly show you the top stars in the company. Seeing shiny gold belts around someone’s waists can pretty much guarantee they are being treated as something special around there. Now some new people have gotten their hands on some gold this week in a big moment.

Over the weekend at the Great American Bash, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks defeated Gallus to win the NXT Tag Team Titles for the first time, marking both of their first title reigns of any kind in WWE. The loss ends Gallus’ reign at 176 days, the longest since MSK in 2021. All of the other champions, including North American Champion Dominik Mysterio retained their titles at the show.

Opinion: NXT didn’t have much of a better option here, as Gallus has held the titles for such a long time now but were rather cold as champions. There is only so much that can be done with a team that cold so moving the titles over made sense. D’Angelo and Stacks are both popular stars and they work well together, so this is one of those changes that needed to make sense.
