Glad to have you aboard. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in WWE but there are only a handful that would be commonly accepted as legends. Some of these names jump off of the page at just about any fan and they do so for a reason. Above all else, these wrestlers have established themselves as some of the best ever, and now WWE is going to be adding another to its ranks.
The Mae Young Classic was a game changer for WWE, as the company was able to bring in as well as showcase several incredibly talented female wrestlers, many of whom got to stick around and be part of the company. Many of the ones who did not were put on a wish list as both fans and the company alike were interested in seeing them working for WWE. Now the company is getting another one of them.
WWE has announced that Japanese legend Meiko Satomura has signed with the company and is coming to NXT UK as both a wrestler and a coach. This had been rumored for several months but had not been confirmed to date. Satomura debuted in 1995 when she was fifteen years old and wrestled for various Japanese promotions plus WCW. She competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic and advanced to the semifinals, where she was defeated by Toni Storm.
She’ll be a help. Check out WWE’s announcement and Satomura in the Mae Young Classic:
Opinion: This is a great signing for WWE as just having that kind of experience and status both in front of and behind the camera should help boost NXT UK’s status. Satomura is a genuine legend and at age 41 could still be wrestling for several years to come. She showcased herself well in the Mae Young Classic and hopefully she gets to do so again for a long time in NXT UK.
