There are a few of them. One of the more interesting wrestling stories of the last few weeks has been the changes in and around NXT. Vince McMahon has not seemed happy with what has been going on in his developmental program and some adjustments have been made. There are even more of them to come, and some of the bigger ones might have taken place this week.
Multiple members of the NXT roster had some sort of change during this week’s show. First of all, Danny Burch returned to television after injuring his shoulder in March. Burch returned to help Oney Lorcan attack Timothy Thatcher during Thatcher’s match against Ridge Holland, Burch and Lorcan’s former associate. It is not clear when Burch will return to the ring.
Next, Carmelo Hayes defeated Odyssey Jones to win the second NXT Breakout Tournament. The win grants Hayes a future title shot against any champion, though he did not make his decision on which champion to challenge. Later in the show, Electra Lopez returned to NXT and attacked B Fab in the main event, seemingly aligning herself with Legado del Fantasma. Lopez has wrestled one match in NXT, losing to Frankie Monet on June 22.
It was a busy night. Check out how these moments went down:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to think of these changes so far, as we could be a long way off from the final moves made on the NXT roster. The show has been in need of a shakeup for a good while now and maybe bringing in a bunch of new names could help. This could wind up messing up for NXT, but they have quite the track record when it comes to creating new stars.
What do you think of the changes? Who else should be brought into NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
