Always bring your gear. There are all kinds of people on the WWE roster and that means some of them are going to need to have some trouble getting on television every now and then. That makes things a little bit frustrating for a lot of the roster, which would likely be the case for someone who does not make WrestleMania. That was the case this year, but it was made even worse for some wrestlers.

WrestleMania 37 was one of the biggest events that the company has ever held as the show took place in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Just like last year, the show was split over two nights, allowing things to breathe a bit more than usual. There were fourteen matches held over the two nights, some of which included more than the usual two wrestlers. It turns out there were even more available.

According to Fightful Select, several wrestlers were backstage in their gear but were not used in any matches. These wrestlers included Peyton Royce, Jinder Mahal, Ivar and Alicia Fox, the latter of whom is retired. Wrestlers were told to be in their for the opening segment when the roster was on the stage during America the Beautiful. Ivar had not wrestled in WWE since September, but made his in-ring return the following night on Monday Night Raw.

That is some talent to have available. Check out what was left standing around:

Asuka vs. Peyton Royce: Raw, Mar. 22, 2021

FULL MATCH - John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal: SmackDown LIVE, August 15, 2017

Ronda Rousey vs. Alicia Fox: Raw, Aug. 6, 2018

Opinion: This is one of those things that WWE tends to do and it must be more than a bit hard to take for the wrestlers. I understand WWE’s mindset for the idea, but at the same time it seems a little ridiculous to have wrestlers in gear when there is no intention to have them doing something on the show. At least WWE had fans there for a change, but it might have been nice to see those wrestlers having a chance to be out there in front of them.
