The field is filling up. We are less than a month away from WWE’s annual Money in the Bank pay per view event and that means it is time to start getting ready for the show’s namesake matches. This time around that means WWE will be presenting the traditional men’s and women’s Money In The Bank ladder matches, meaning the matches need some participants. We now have quite a few of those set.

Several Money In The Bank ladder match spots were filled during this week’s Monday Night Raw. Four out of eight spots were filled in the women’s match, with, Asuka and Naomi and Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss winning tag team qualifying matches, defeating Eva Marie/Dudrop and Shayna Baszler/Nia Jax respectively. There is no word on when the other four spots will be filled.

Three of the men’s spots were filled as well, with Ricochet, John Morrison and Riddle winning qualifying matches over AJ Styles, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre respectively. The three losers will compete in a triple threat match next week on Monday Night Raw, with the winner earning the fourth spot. There were no more qualifying matches announced for either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown.

It was a busy night. Check out some of the qualifying matches:

Drew McIntyre vs. Riddle – Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Raw, June 21, 2021

Bliss & Cross vs. Jax & Baszler – Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Raw, June 21, 2021

Opinion: I’m not big on Money In The Bank season for the most part but at least they are mixing things up a bit with the qualifiers. There are still a lot of spots to be filled in, though I can go with the build to the match if they come up with something other than matches to “build momentum”. Money In The Bank can be a lot of fun, but the path there needs to be well done too. This year’s seems to be off to a nice start for a change so maybe we have a bit of hope.
