That’s some special praise. There are certain wrestlers who are revered even among their colleagues. Those are the stars who have been around for a long time and have earned every bit of the respect that they have achieved. It can mean a lot to have one of them praise a fellow wrestler and that was the case again, as we found out something rather interesting about a big time match.

This weekend’s AEW All Out event featured a strap match between the returning Bryan Danielson and Ricky Starks, with Danielson coming out victorious. The match was Danielson’s first in over two months after he broke his arm at June’s Forbidden Door. During the post-All Out media scrum, Danielson praised Starks for “carrying him” through the match. Danielson also said that he felt Starks was a star and wanted people to find Starks “entertaining” and “gutsy”. In addition, Danielson mentioned he wrestled the entire match, which ran over 16 minutes, without throwing a strike with his still recovering arm.

That’s some praise. Check out the two in AEW, both together and apart:

Opinion: There are very few wrestlers in the world today who are as revered and respected as Danielson so seeing him give that kind of praise to Starks means a lot. I could go for seeing more of Starks in the future and it should be interesting to see where AEW goes with him. The talent is there, and someone as good as Danielson certainly sees it, so there might be some hope going forward.

What do you think of Danielson’s statement? How far can Starks go in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
