Scratch All That: Reporter Recants Recent Royal Rumble And WrestleMania Spoilers

Not so fast? We are less than two days away from the Royal Rumble and that means we are officially on the Road To WrestleMania. This is the time of the year where some of the most important things take place in WWE and as a result, there is all kinds of speculation over what we might be seeing take place. It turns out that a recent report of what was expected for WrestleMania might not be so accurate.

Earlier this week, a report from SI.com revealed a series of matches WWE was reportedly planning for WrestleMania 40, including some results coming out of this weekend’s Royal Rumble. However, SI’s Justin Barrasso has recanted the story, saying that he had been given the information by “previously reliable sources” but the story was “a deliberate attempt at misinformation.” Barrasso apologized for the errors in the original report.

Opinion: In a way, I’m glad this was recanted as I was hoping to avoid as many spoilers as possible for the Royal Rumble as well as WrestleMania. This is the most important time of the year for WWE and it would be annoying to know what is coming in advance. WWE is on a roll right now and I could go for seeing what they have to kick off the busiest season of their year.
