Extreme Rules card subject to change. We are in a weird place at the moment with the wrestling world changing almost every day due to the impact of the Coronavirus. You never know when someone won’t be able to appear as planned, which means you might be in for some big changes. That is the case with all kinds of medical issues though, and that might be the case this weekend.

One of the bigger stories on the way to Extreme Rules Monday Night Raw side has seen United States Champion Apollo Crews having issues with MVP and Bobby Lashley. MVP wanted Crews to join up with them but Crews said no, meaning MVP wanted to do something to cost Crews the title. He decided to do it himself, and had the chance to do so at the pay per view. It didn’t go as planned.

Crews vs. MVP did not take place at Extreme Rules as Crews was announced as not having passed his pre-match physical. The issue was blamed on an attack at Lashley’s hands earlier in the month. MVP announced that he won the match via forfeit and declared himself champion, though it is not clear if that is official. Crews has not wrestled since the June 29 Monday Night Raw.

They’ve done it before. Check out the match when it actually took place and how things went at the pay per view:

Opinion: This is making me think that there is something a bit more wrong with Crews, like perhaps a certain positive test. If so, I can live with the idea of WWE using Lashley’s attack as an excuse, as it’s certainly not the worst idea. Crews can come back when healthy and say he’s the real champion, though I’m not sure when that will be. Lashley vs. Crews at Summerslam sounds fine though and it could be a nice boost for Crews’ career.
