They had to say something. The wrestling world has been very busy this week and it got even more chaotic this week. On Thursday, a lawsuit was filed against Vince McMahon, alleging that he trafficked a former WWE employee around the company for sex while also mentally and sexually abusing her. That is the kind of thing that is going to get a reaction and now we have two of them.

Following the lawsuit against McMahon, both the TKO Group and McMahon issued a response. First up, the TKO Group issued the following statement through a spokesperson:
“Mr. McMahon does not control TKO nor does he oversee the day-to-day operations of WWE. While this matter pre-dates our TKO executive team’s tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally.”
McMahon, also through a spokesperson, issued the following statement of his own:
“This lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and a vindictive distortion of the truth. He will vigorously defend himself.”
There is no word on any kind of official punishment for McMahon so far and it is not clear when the TKO Group will make an announcement of how they are dealing with the entire situation.
There have been some responses in WWE history. Check out this stretch of a connection:
Opinion: This is the kind of situation that could lead to a huge change and it will almost have to. Having that kind of an allegation against McMahon is the sort of thing that is going to get a major reaction and now we are just waiting to see what that is. McMahon has been moved away from WWE in recent months and there is a really good chance that this is going to be the last straw for him.
What do you think of the responses? Will this be it for McMahon in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
