What could have been. Women’s wrestling has come a long way in the last few years, and while it has not been the only reason, the WWE Women’s Revolution has played a major role in the changes. This has been led by the Four Horsewomen and the group has stayed on top of the WWE women’s division for several years. However, it turns out that one of them wanted out.
Back in 2019, Sasha Banks took a hiatus from WWE after WrestleMania 35 before she ultimately returned later in the year. Banks has opened up about the hiatus in a new interview with Ariel Helwani Meets, saying that she needed to take time away from wrestling to find herself. Her entire life had been about wrestling and she wanted to take some time away. Banks even asked Vince McMahon for her release from the company, but McMahon felt that she only needed time away, which she was granted.
It’s a fascinating interview. Check out the whole interview, plus some of Banks’ time in WWE:
Opinion: This is one of those things that is not exactly a shock but it’s still a bit surprising to actually hear Banks say it. Banks clearly needed a break back in 2019 and now it seems that she is back to full strength. I’m not sure what was wrong with her but as long as she is ok now, things are looking up. Banks is one of the most talented people in WWE and it is good to have her back in the right place.
What do you think of Banks? Who should she face next? Let us know in the comments below.
