So this whole thing was a big waste of time? The main event for Sunday’s “Extreme Rules 2017” pay per view is a Fatal Five Way match for a future shot at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe will be squaring off for the title shot, but a new report suggests that the new #1 contender could be someone completely different.

According to “Wrestling Observer Radio”, no matter who earns the title shot this coming Sunday, Lesnar will be defending the title against Braun Strowman at the upcoming “Great Balls of Fire” pay per view in July. Strowman has been out since mid-May with an arm injury, which WWE claimed could keep him out for six months.

Opinion: Tell me they’re not going to do this. The show’s ratings have been horrible for months now and telling the fans that that everything they’ve sat through for the last few weeks have been thrown away isn’t going to help your remaining audience. Just let Lesnar beat up one of the five participants and then let him face Strowman at any other pay per view. If you’re going to build a match for weeks, don’t pull the rug out from underneath everyone just because you can.
