That’s a long time. We are just over two months away from WrestleMania 36 and that means it is time to set things up in a big way. With so many things going on for the show, WWE is going to have to work overtime to really make everything work. The card is going to be huge and with that much time to fill in, it makes sense to start planning ahead. It turns out that WWE has that covered in one case.

While not confirmed, there is a good reason to believe that one of the show’s main events is going to be Roman Reigns challenging the Fiend for the Universal Title. The two have a history together and the Fiend is going to need someone special to get the big title shot. Reigns would fit all of the boxes, and WWE seems to have known that for a very long time now.

According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKUssion podcast, Fiend vs. Reigns has been planned for WrestleMania for the better part of a year now, with the original idea for the match being set up when Fiend began to catch fire last year. Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House debuted in April 2019 with the Fiend wrestling his first match at Summerslam 2019. The match has not yet been announced but Fiend has no opponent for WrestleMania 36 at the moment.

It was an interesting show. Check out the full episode plus Reigns vs. Wyatt:

Opinion: That is a long time to set up a match but at the same time, who else was going to get the big spot against the Fiend like this? Reigns is almost always going to be the top guy if possible and having him face Fiend for the title is hardly shocking. That being said, I’m not sure who would win the match as Fiend has a lot more to lose than Reigns would, which makes Reigns winning an even bigger risk.
