There’s another reason. Wrestling is built on the idea of conflict between two people, often over a title. That is the kind of thing that can cause some interesting issues to come up, some of which are not even in front of a camera. You will occasionally hear of backstage problems between wrestlers and those can often lead to punishments. That seemed to be the case again but it might not be so simple.

This week on AEW Dynamite, Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa announced that she was injured and unable to defend her title, meaning an interim champion would need to be crowned. As a result, rumors began to spread that Rosa had been suspended from the company for an unknown reason, forcing the change in the title situation. According to PWInsider.com, Rosa was NOT suspended and has a disc injury in her back. There is no word on how long she will be out of action.

Opinion: This does clear some things up and explains a lot of the situation. Rosa having to step back came out of nowhere and that does feel like something that either relates to a backstage issue or some kind of an injury. Hopefully she is able to get back in the ring sooner rather than later, if nothing else so we don’t have to deal with another interim champion. The idea does not exactly work and I could go with not seeing it used again, just for the sake of that’s not how wrestling works.

What do you think of the Rosa situation? What should she do when she gets back in the ring? Let us know in the comments below.
