Maybe she’s sticking around. One of the more interesting stories of the year has been the fall of Asuka, who has gone from what seemed like a layup champion to being just another person on the roster. Asuka’s undefeated streak was broken at WrestleMania 34 and she has since lost multiple times to Carmella. That would be enough to make some people walk out on the promotion, but that’s not the case here.

A rumor has been going around over the last few days that Asuka got in an argument with WWE officials at this week’s SmackDown Live and walked out on the promotion. This is not true, according to Ringsidenews.com. The story was falsely attributed to Mike Johnson of PWInsider but no major news outlets have confirmed any such a thing. Had Asuka walked out, it would have been a top story backstage but no one has been talking about it, suggesting that nothing happened.

In case you’ve forgotten how awesome Asuka has been.

Opinion: That’s a relief to hear. I’m far from thrilled with the way Asuka has been used in recent months but it would be a shame if she walked away and ruined everything she had done in the company over the last few years. Asuka is something very special and while WWE hasn’t been using her in the most interesting way so far, I would hope to see her sticking around for a lot longer.
