Stick around for a bit. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world but it is certainly not the only option for wrestlers out there. That has become far more clear with the rise of AEW, meaning there are alternatives for the fans, but also for the wrestlers. It makes things more interesting, and that option was teased again earlier this month.
In addition to the main WWE roster, NXT has an absolute treasure trove of talent, several of whom would be valuable on the open market. Last year, Jon Moxley showed what can happen when someone plays out their contract and then makes a jump to another company, so the idea is rather appealing. However, it turns out that one wrestler who was rumored to possibly jump isn’t going anywhere at the time.
Last week, news began coming out about Adam Cole’s contract expiring in the near future. However, PWInsider.com is reporting that Cole has over eighteen more months on his current contract, which will keep him in WWE until at least the end of 2021, assuming he does not sign a new deal before then. Cole celebrated one year as NXT Champion at the beginning of the month.
Cole has had a big title reign. Check out some of his time on top:
Opinion: That’s quite the relief for WWE as Cole is the kind of person who could be a major star in WWE for a long time to come. I’m not sure when Cole is going to get the promotion to the main roster but it is long overdue. He is the kind of guy who was ready to be on the main roster since the day he debuted and now he has another year and a half (at least) to show what he can do.
What do you want to see from Cole? What will he do on the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
