The food is on Edge. Things are changing more and more in wrestling every single week. You never know what you might see happen in wrestling. While there are times when you might think you know exactly what you are going to be seeing, sometimes you are going to be surprised in a big way. That was the case on Sunday and it was a big deal, both for us and a certain wrestler.

The big surprise at this weekend’s Royal Rumble was the return of Edge, who made his first in-ring appearance in nearly nine years. Back in 2011, Edge was forced to retire from the ring due to a neck injury. There was no reason to believe he would ever return to wrestling but you never know what you might see in wrestling. Edge is back, and it comes with a few added perks.

According to talkSPORT.com, Edge has signed a three year contract for three million dollars a year. The deal calls for Edge to wrestle three matches a year minimum, though he is expected to wrestle five matches a year, along with twenty five appearances to help set up his matches. Edge’s first match was in the Royal Rumble and it is not clear when his second match will take place, though he is rumored to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36.

Edge is back. Check out his return and the big angle from Monday Night Raw:

Opinion: If this is true, that’s a heck of a deal for Edge. How many people can get to come out of retirement and wrestle a few matches for a million dollars a pop? It’s one of the best deals you can imagine and the fans get to see an old favorite for a bonus. Hopefully we get to see something special out of the whole thing. Edge has looked great so far and maybe it can get even better.
