Just in case you thought the division was too deep. Both WWE tag team divisions have depth issues. They don’t have the deepest rosters as there are only a handful of teams on either roster at this point, making it harder to have a regular division. One of those divisions might be about to lose another team.

American Alpha vs. The Colons: SmackDown LIVE, April 18, 2017

According to a report from Super Luchas by way of 411mania.com, the Colons (Primo and Epico) have requested their release from WWE. WWC, a Puerto Rican promotion owned by the Colon family, retweeted the story. As of now though, nothing seems to have changed as, according to PWInsider.com and also by way of 411mania.com, the team is still booked for the upcoming weekend “Smackdown Live” house shows. There is no word on if WWE is interested in granting the request for releases.

Opinion: I’m sure there’s someone else who could replace the Colons without too much effort. They’ve nearly been around for six years now and there’s still barely the slightest hint of charisma between the two of them. After multiple gimmicks, nothing is sticking for them and there’s no reason to think that just being the Colons was going to do the trick either.

Which of the team’s gimmicks was the best? Do you think they’ll ever come back to the company? Let us know in the comments below.
