Dismissed for now. While WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world, they are certainly not the only one. The company has dominated the industry for so long but there are still several other promotions to be found. One such promotion was not happy with WWE’s actions and did something about it, but that has not turned out very well for them.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s On: WWE Officially Sets Trilogy Match For Elimination Chamber

In January 2022, Major League Wrestling (MLW) filed a lawsuit against WWE, claiming that WWE had interfered with MLW’s contract negotiations with Tubi and VICE TV. This week, according to PWInsider.com, US District Court Judge Edward J. Davila dismissed the case, basically saying that MLW did not make a strong enough argument to back up claims of WWE violating antitrust laws. MLW has 21 days to file an amended complaint, with MLW owner Court Bauer issuing a statement to PWInsider saying the company’s legal team is already working on the amended version.

WWE has had some legal issues before. Check out some of them over the years:

Opinion: I’m not going to pretend to know how the legal process or the details of such a case work but it doesn’t seem that the judge agrees with MLW. That sounds like something that could have quite the consequence if this winds up costing MLW a lot of money, as I’m not sure how much they have to spare. Either way, things are certainly not going MLW’s way so far, which is sad as they just got their new show debuting last week.
