That’ll raise some eyebrows. While he might not be the most popular name in WWE history, there is no denying that Roman Reigns is one of the biggest stars WWE has ever seen. He has been pushed to the moon more than once and that is the kind of thing that you don’t get to see very often. The results have been mixed, and Reigns has certainly been controversial. Now he has said something that is likely to get people talking again.
One of the most controversial moments of Reigns’ career was in the 2016 Royal Rumble, when he defended the WWE Championship while entering at #1. Reigns was around near the end, but took a long break during the match after an attack by the League of Nations. He has won the Royal Rumble before, although not with the crowd reaction WWE may have wanted, plus finished runner up more than once. He has a history in the match, and now he is talking about it.
On Tuesday, Fox Sports 1 aired the 2017 Royal Rumble, where Reigns finished runner up. During the broadcast, Reigns sent out a tweet saying that he might be the most important Royal Rumble competitor of all time. Reigns said to consider the last five years of the match. Over his career, Reigns has finished as the runner up in four Royal Rumbles (2014, 2017, 2018, 2020), won in 2015, and finished in the final three in 2016. He also set the single match elimination record in 2014 by eliminating 12 men. Reigns did not participate in 2019 due to leukemia.
I might be the most important Royal Rumble competitor of all time. Before you start complaining, just think about the last 5 years…. https://t.co/tIfyv3bMyw

Reigns has been a big deal in the match. Check out some of his performances:
Opinion: I’m not sure if I can put him ahead of Steve Austin’s three wins, one runner up and final four spot, but dang that is a convincing argument. Considering he has only been in six Royal Rumbles and his worst finish was the top three, that is one heck of a resume. I know he isn’t the most popular at times, but Reigns is absolutely right about his spot in the match’s history.
