Welcome back. Wrestlers do not typically retire like most other athletes and that can create some very special moments. While more mainstream athletes are not going to come back for one game at a time, a wrestler can pop in and out of the ring whenever they like for a very long time. Now an all time legend is returning to the ring after a rather lengthy absence.

Big Time Wrestling in Raleigh, North Carolina has announced that Ricky the Dragon Steamboat will be returning to the ring on November 27 against an opponent to be named. This will be Steamboat’s, 69 years old, first match since 2010 when he wrestled a tag match in FCW and his first singles match since 2009. He was reportedly offered a chance to wrestle in Ric Flair’s last match but turned it down.

Opinion: I have no idea what to expect from this but you can almost guarantee it won’t be quite what Flair’s last match wound up being. Steamboat has not been around in a very long time but has the reputation of being one of the best wrestlers in history. If they keep the match short and let Steamboat plan everything out in advance, we could be in for a good bit of fun in November.

What do you think of the idea? Who would you like to see Steamboat face? Let us know in the comments below.
