He’s still around. One of the biggest stories in WWE history took place this week, as the company was officially sold to Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC. This means that for the first time in its history, the McMahon family will not own the WWE. That does not mean Vince McMahon is gone though, and it seems that he was using his power on the last night he was in charge.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon, along with Triple H to a lesser degree, made several changes to this week’s Monday Night Raw. This marked McMahon’s return to work following back surgery earlier this year, though he was not present at the show, instead calling in the changes he wanted made. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, some of the changes involved Cody Rhodes not opening the show as planned, along with some matches being moved to and from Main Event. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the changes were more than likely “for the better”.
Cody Rhodes was originally listed internally as kicking off WWE Raw.

Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a problem it is to have changes to WWE television, but there is something to be said about not waiting until the last minute. If the shows are being changed with almost no time left before they go on the air, no one is going to have time to get ready for what is going on. That presents quite the problem and unfortunately it is a pretty standard move from McMahon.
