It’s as good as anything else. Over the weekend, Rich Swann was suspended from WWE after being arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment. As you might expect, it didn’t take WWE long to suspend Swann, canceling his #1 contenders match for the Cruiserweight Title on this week’s “Monday Night Raw”. It wasn’t clear how things would be settled but now we know for sure.

On this week’s show, another fatal four way match was held with the winner going on to face Drew Gulak, Swann’s original opponent, next week to crown the new #1 contender. Cedric Alexander won the match by defeating Mustafa Ali, Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari. Swann’s suspension wasn’t specifically mentioned but Gulak did say that his spot in the #1 contenders match had been canceled.

Here’s what Alexander said after winning the match.

Drew Gulak faces a "new' Cedric Alexander next Monday night: Raw Fallout, Dec. 11, 2017

Opinion: Alexander was one of the only real options they had as the division isn’t exactly all that strong. Ali could have been a choice as well, though I’m not sure how interested anyone would be outside of Alexander getting the title shot. That being said, Gulak has really stepped it up in recent weeks and it’s been rather cool to see.

Who do you think gets the title shot? If neither of them take the title off of Amore, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
