Bring it back. There are all kinds of shows throughout WWE’s history and several of them have developed reputations of their own. While WWE has relied on their Big Four events for decades, there are other shows that have done quite well without that kind of prominence. Now WWE has announced that they are bringing another one back after a few years away, albeit in another form.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s Time: WWE Officially Announces Grudge Match For Summerslam

During the media call for this weekend’s Great American Bash, WWE executive Shawn Michaels announced that NXT’s next premium live event will be No Mercy on September 30 at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. WWE presented No Mercy as a regular premium live event from 1999-2008 and from 2016-2017. No matches have been announced for the show.

No Mercy has a history. Check out some of the previous editions:

Opinion: It’s nice to see WWE bringing some of these shows back as there are only so many names that can be used. WWE has a long catalog of shows to pick from and No Mercy is as good as anything else for what sounds like a generic show title. It’s certainly better than trying some ridiculous new name that will be mocked more than anything else, so at least WWE seems to be having the right idea.
