That’s a different way to go. When a wrestler has been around for a long time, there are certain periods of their careers that stand out. It might be an angle or a feud or something similar, but sometimes it is a run that has little to do with anyone else. That is the case with a variety of legends, one of who is set to make his return under the most successful moniker of his career.
Back in June, Edge was written off of WWE TV when he was attacked by Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Edge is scheduled to be at Monday Night Raw this week, though it is not clear what he is going to be doing. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Edge is likely to return as the Rated R Superstar, though it is not clear if he will be a babyface or a heel. The return has not been announced in advance by WWE.
Opinion: This is one of those things that should be a good thing for everyone involved. You can all but guarantee that Edge is going to be back for a big grudge match at Summerslam and putting him in his best known persona is going to help. Being the Rated R Superstar isn’t some huge change, but at least they are doing with him that should make for a good reaction.
What do you think of the change? What should Edge do when he gets back? Let us know in the comments below.
