Bring it back. AEW has made quite the impact in its still relatively short history. The company only debuted back in 2019 and has gone on to become one of the biggest in the wrestling world. That means the company already has its own history, with some things coming and going over the years. Now they are bringing back a concept that they had been running in the early days.

This week on AEW Collision, commentary announced that the company would be bringing back its ranking system. AEW used the concept in its early days to determine the top contenders for its World, Tag Team and Women’s Titles. There is no word on when the rankings system will be brought back or if there will be any changes made to their original presentation.

Opinion: I’m not sure on this as the rankings system didn’t exactly work out in the first place. Wrestling is a weird place to do something like this and it will be more than a bit tricky to make it work. It’s not a completely terrible idea and I could see it work for awhile, but at the end of the day, these aren’t a concept that worked in their first go around. Maybe things can go better this time, but it’s going to be difficult.
