That might get some people talking. The WWE releases were one of the biggest stories in all of wrestling this year. While the might not have meant the most to WWE, it meant quite a bit elsewhere, because those wrestlers are going to be able to go to other promotions and see what they can do. That can make for some interesting changes and matches, one of which we are going to be seeing soon.

During a new interview with Super Luchas, Alberto El Patron, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio in WWE, announced that he will be facing recently released WWE star Andrade this summer. The match will take place at at a Nacion Lucha Libre event in McAllen, Texas on July 31. The event will also include Blue Demon Jr., Kalisto, Primo, Epico and Dr. Wagner Jr. among others. This is currently Andrade’s first scheduled match since his release. It is not clear what name he will be wrestling under.

El Patron has not wrestled since a match for Qatar Pro Wrestling on February 21, 2020. He has wrestled for WWE in two different stints, including from 2009-2014 and again from 2015-2016. El Patron then went on to Impact Wrestling, where he won two World Titles. He has also dealt with various legal issues, including sexual assault charges in October 2020.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to make a few headlines but there is a lot of time before the match takes place. The event will be part of El Patron’s promotion, which seemed to be shut down one before. Assuming the match does take place though, it should be interesting to see what Andrade does next. He is someone with more talent than he knows what to do with and hopefully he gets to work on a high platform.

Above all else, it can be interesting to see where things go from here, as Andrade is going to have a lot of options out there. Almost any promotion would be lucky to have him because you do not get that kind of talent available every day. I’m not sure how WWE managed to screw him up, especially when hew as working with Zelina Vega, but for one reason or another, there is suddenly a great free agent on the market.

Where will Andrade wind up? Where do you want him to wind up? Let us know in the comments below.
