It’s back. There are all kinds of major shows on the WWE calendar, some of which take place on a regular basis. Occasionally WWE will shift one show in or out of the schedule but it can be a nice addition to have it back. WWE did that earlier this month with the announcement of Payback returning and now they are bringing back another event after a few years away.

WWE has announced the return of Fastlane, which will take place on October 7 in Indianapolis, Indiana. This will be the return of the event after it was absent last year and the first premium live event from Indianapolis in over seven years. It will be the seventh Fastlane, which previously ran from 2015 – 2019 and again in 2022. There is no word on a potential card.

Fastlane has been a bit deal. Check out some of its better moments over the years:

Opinion: I like the idea of bringing back these more general premium live events as having a themed show so often takes away a lot of the impact. Fastlane is not an event that has a particular theme outside of getting to WrestleMania, but it could be used in a rather basic form as well. This year’s show could be a heck of an edition if given the chance, and it is nice to see WWE heading to a fresh market instead of the same old places.
